Pre-Order 'Tell All', Personally Inscribed By Chuck From St. Helen's Book Shop

On May 4th, Chuck Palahniuk's new novel Tell All hits bookstores.  But you can pre-order it today from our favorite independent bookstore and affiliate St. Helen's Book Shop.  If you don't already know, Chuck loves this store and frequently visits them and signs their entire Palahniuk inventory.  But he goes one step further.  (doesn't he always?)

Chuck has an arrangement with St. Helen's whereby they take custom orders on their website that allow fans to request a person inscription when Chuck signs their books.  Basically, if you are unable to see Chuck on tour, this is the BEST way to get a signed copy of your book, with even a personal message on it!  St. Helen's has a great track record and we've been working with them on this endeavor for over three years now.

Official Description For "Tell All", Chuck's Next Novel, Now Up On Amazon!

The official description for Tell All, Chuck Palahniuk's upcoming novel (May 3, 2010), is now up on Amazon:

Pre-order Chuck Palahniuk's next novel, "Tell All" from Amazon today! The hyperactive love child of Page Six and Whatever Happened to Baby Jane? caught in a tawdry love triangle with The Fan. Even Kitty Kelly will blush.

Soaked, nay, marinated in the world of vintage Hollywood, Tell-All is a Sunset Boulevard–inflected homage to Old Hollywood when Bette Davis and Joan Crawford ruled the roost; a veritable Tourette’s syndrome of rat-tat-tat  name-dropping, from the A-list to the Z-list; and a merciless  send-up of Lillian Hellman’s habit of butchering the truth that will have Mary McCarthy cheering from the beyond.

Our Thelma Ritter–ish narrator is Hazie Coogan, who for decades has tended to the outsized needs of Katherine “Miss Kathie”  Kenton—veteran of multiple marriages, career comebacks, and cosmetic surgeries. But danger arrives with gentleman caller Webster Carlton Westward III, who worms his way into Miss Kathie’s heart (and boudoir). Hazie discovers that this bounder has already written a celebrity tell-all memoir foretelling Miss Kathie’s death in a forthcoming Lillian Hellman–penned musical extravaganza; as the body count mounts, Hazie must execute a plan to save Katherine Kenton for her fans—and for posterity.

Tell-All is funny, subversive, and fascinatingly clever. It’s wild, it’s wicked, it’s  bold-faced—it’s vintage Chuck.

Props to Andy for spotting this and emailing us about it.

First Details For Chuck Palahniuk's 2010 Novel, "Tell All"

In a recent audio interview Chuck did with KPBS, while on the road promoting his latest novel "Pygmy", Chuck openly talked about his next novel.  In fact, Chuck revealed that, while caring for his mother last year, he actually wrote three novels!  The one which is going to drop in 2010 is called "Tell All" and if you thought Chuck couldn't get anymore original and daring... think again.

Lillian Hellman, to be the central character in Chuck Palahniuk's 2010 novel 'Tell All'.

The plot:  The novel will feature Lillian Hellman, a real life playright.  She is best known as Dashielle Hammet's lover and the writer of the controversial film "The Children's Hour" which featured Audrey Hepburn and Shirley McClain as lesbians.   According to the interview, Chuck wants to reinvent her as a "larger than life Super Hero" and talk about her incredible life and exploits, as she wrote about them in her memoir "An Unfinished Woman".
